FISHING AND DIP NETTING
The lodge is close to many of the desirable fishing and dip netting areas such as Cohoe Beach (3.5 miles), Johnson Lake State Recreation Area (3.7 miles), Crooked Creek State Recreation Site (1.6 miles), and Kasilof River State Recreation Site (4.1 miles).
The world renowned Homer (63 miles), Seward (111 miles), Deep Creek (40 miles), and Anchor Point (47 miles) are a little further out but often worth the drive for Halibut, Salmon, Lingcod and Dolly Varden.
You can catch some fishing excursions out of most of the major fishing locations, where seasoned professionals can show you the best spots and teach you the way of the water.
Fishing takes place year round on the Kenai however, the time of year will often weigh heavily on the fish condition, for top of the line fish we recommend using this chart!
Kenai First Run:
King Salmon mid May - Early June
Sockeye Salmon early June - late July
Coho Salmon late July - August
Pink Salmon late July - mid August
Rainbow Trout mid June - mid April

CHECK OUT SOME MUSEUMS
Our lodge is only 5.2 miles from the Kasilof Regional Historical Museum, they're volunteer run, non-profit. There you can get a free guided or non-guided tour of historic cabins, learn about old farming, fishing, and hunting practices. This museum is great at connecting people to historic personnel whose stories can be read and expanded upon throughout the tour. They also harbor fascinating artifacts of early settlers.

HORSEBACK RIDING
See Alaska on horseback! Cusack's on the Kenai (21 miles away) will take you where motorized vehicles cannot! Whether you're looking for slow-paced ,family-friendly ride or an action-packed thrilling adventure!

FISHING GUIDES
We proudly partner with RiverRise Fishing Guides!
The Team at RiverRise Fishing Guides provides both half day and full day fully guided fishing trips for King Salmon, Sockeye Salmon, Silver Salmon, Pink Salmon and Trophy Rainbow Trout.
Their team provides fun and safe trips on the Kasilof and Kenai River while also providing a pick up and drop off service to and from our lodge.

VIEW THE WILDLIFE
You may see porcupines, bears, moose, birds, bunnies, etc. from our property. However, if you want to see more wildlife we recommend the many wildlife locations near us. The most popular is Crooked Creek State Recreation Site (1.6 miles) or Cohoe Beach (3.5 miles), alongside Kasilof River Recreation Area (4.1 miles), and US Wildlife Refuge (17 miles). Another great, however, strange place to catch a glance of some wildlife is actually the Soldotna landfill (15 miles), hundreds of golden and bald eagles hang out there everyday!
If you decide to seek out animals please use the necessary precautions, they may be cute but they are still very wild!

LAUNDROMAT
The Wash & Dry Laundromat is located in Soldotna, only 18 miles away. Kenai Wash & Dry is 24 miles, both are reasonable priced, have showers, staff is friendly, clean and tidy.

DAY CRUISES AND TOURS
